Mumbai is currently taking on Madhya Pradesh in the final of Ranji Trophy‘s 2021-2022 season. Mumbai won the toss and decided to bat first at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. However, a few regular wickets got Sarfaraz Khan in the middle at the halfway stage of the first day of the match.

The right-handed batter looked in a good rhythm right from the start. He had come into this final on the back of brilliant performances throughout the season. He had three centuries to his name before this match. Sarfaraz continued his form here as well and played the game at a good pace.

He was given some support by Yashasvi Jaiswal early in his innings, but wickets kept tumbling regularly on the other end. He, however, stayed strong at the conclusion of day one and finished his half-century early the next day. The 24-year-old then increased his scoring rate, and completed his century in no time.

He hit a four off Kumar Kartikeya’s delivery in the 114th over to complete his century. The batter jumped in the air and got emotional as he celebrated his fourth century of the season. Sarfaraz has been in a tremendous form for Mumbai in the last two Ranji Trophy seasons, and would want to get his hands on the trophy.

He hit a few more runs in the innings before finally losing his wicket to Gaurav Yadav in the 128th over. This was Mumbai’s last wicket in the first innings. Sarfaraz contributed 134 runs in 243 balls, while Jaiswal was the second-highest run-scorer with 78 runs. Mumbai scored 374 runs in the first innings.

Twitter exploded with praises for Sarfaraz Khan. “Sarfaraz Khan Showing his Class in red Ball Cricket. His numbers in Domestic Cricket is mind blowing and average is Classy.
