At the start of Day 2, India was 357/6 with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja batting together. Both batters batted with ease and command as they milked singles against the likes of Lasith Embuldeniya and Dhananjaya De Silva. The Sri Lanka team spread the fielders around the park to stop the projected streak of boundary hitting from Jadeja. Jadeja had come out to bat on Day One when the team lost the wicket of Shreyas Iyer with the scorecard reading 228/5.
The left-hander joined hands with wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant (96) and stitched a partnership of 104 runs before the latter was dismissed by Suranga Lakmal. At 332/6, Ashwin came out to bat, the Rohit Sharma-led side had accumulated 357/6. Both batters added 130 runs for the seventh wicket. Ashwin (61) scored another half-century of his career hitting eight boundaries. On the other hand, JadeJa went to score his second Test century.
Currently, he is unbeaten on 102 and Ashwin has been dismissed by Lakmal minutes before the end of the first session. The team has added 111 runs in the session and Jayant Yadav (2*) has come out to bat with India moving towards 500 runs and also hoping for wear and tear in the surface. At the time of writing, India amassed 468/7 with Jadeja and Yadav batting at the crease.
For Sri Lanka, Embuldenya and Lakmal have taken two wickets each. On the other hand, Dhananjaya De Silva, Vishwa Fernanado, and Lahiru Kumara have taken one each. Kumara hasn't come out to bowl after getting on the last session of Day One. He pulled out in the middle of the over, which was completed by Charith Asalanka.

Sri Lanka are wilting now. They are a bowler short and India have quality batting even at No 7 & No 8. Jadeja and Ashwin are looking untroubled and classy.
