Team India gave a fitting birthday present to captain Virat Kohli by putting on a dominating display against Scotland in a do-or-die match. The Men in Blue won the match by eight wickets and 81 balls to spare and managed to jump to the third position on the points table with a positive net run rate of 1.619. The batting and bowling clicked in unison as India kept their qualifications hopes alive.
Scotland had no answers to India’s relentless questions and were shot out for just 85. There was no respite whatsoever in the bowling too as KL Rahul put the Scottish bowlers to the sword as India cruised to a win in just 6.3 overs. Kohli, who turned 33 on Friday (November 5), could not have asked for anything more from the team.
Scotland were naturally shattered with this performance but team India managed to lift their spirits up by paying a visit to their dressing room. Skipper Kohli was accompanied by KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravi Ashwin, and Rohit Sharma. The players were seen discussing the game. Scotland were extremely delighted by India's gesture.
Cricket Scotland took to their official Twitter account to share pictures from the special interactive session. In the post, Cricket Scotland thanked the Indian team for taking out their precious time and termed the experience as priceless. They also offered India to play a match against them in April in Scotland.
“So guys how do you go about playing on a green one in Aberdeen in April?” pic.twitter.com/jej5ignlp7

Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer also was effusive in praise of team India’s thumping display and said that Scotland need to learn from the experience of playing against a side like India.
“The experience is everything for our group of players and organization. Today’s result didn’t go the way we wanted. It’s very important for our guys to experience that and see the high class that was on show today from the Indian team. That was some high-class execution from India today."
