Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged to be the man of the match in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series played at Nagpur. Jadeja completed a five-wicket haul in the first Australian innings while adding another two scalps in the second. However, his show was not limited to the ball; the number 1 allrounder scored a crucial half-century to get India to a comfortable first-innings lead.

Jadeja returned with the goods again in Test 2 of the BGT series as he picked up three in the first innings, where India bowled the Aussies out for 263. However, his real show was on Day 3 in the second Australian innings, where the man from Gujarat picked up seven wickets to take his wickets tally to 10 for the game. While his show with the bat was not too notable, he still scored a handy 26 to help his team. Fans were quick to react to Jadeja's back-to-back 5-wicket hauls.

India were 14-1 at Lunch, Day 3 in Test 2 of the BGT '23

India conceded a first-innings lead of one run riding on Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel's handsome eighth-wicket partnership of 114 runs. Meanwhile, Australia were bowled out for a mere 113 runs in the second innings, setting a target of 115 runs for India to win the game and take a comfortable 2-0 lead in the series. At lunch on Day 3, India were sitting at 14-1, with KL Rahul dismissed early on by Nathan Lyon.

Notably, the ongoing BGT series against Australia is India's final chance to make it into the finals of the Global Test Championships, to be played at the Oval between June 18 and 23, 2023. Moreover, the hosts are eyeing a hat-trick of Test series win against the men from down under, having won the last two BGT series in Australia. The remaining two Tests of the high-octane 4-Test series are scheduled to be played at Indore and Ahmedabad.
