The Rajasthan-based franchise skipper Sanju Samson is one of the most successful cricketers in the Indian T20 League. His wonderful batting records are the reason why the franchise named him the captain last season and he even proved the decision right as he took the team to the final in 2022.
However, with brilliant leadership skills, Samson's individual performance also got consistent as he is now the highest run-scorer while playing at no.3 in the history of the cash-rich league. Samson also smashed an amazing half-century in the first match of the 16th season of the league against Hyderabad.
He's a very happy kind of character: Sanju Samson about Yuzvendra Chahal
With the help of Samson's brilliant knock and Rajasthan's outstanding bowling performance, they won their first match of the season promisingly. Meanwhile, Samson, in the post-match press conference talked about their experienced leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and how his presence makes a positive impact on the team. Samson also appreciated another experienced player, Jos Buttler who is doing wonders for the franchise over the past few years.
“The day he joined out family here, wearing that pink, you could see that happy smile in him. He’s a very happy kind of character, who brings along all the people inside his room or restaurant. They sit along late night till 1 am and 2 am. He’s a very chilled kind of guy, so his presence makes a huge impact. Him, being him, wearing this pink jersey, I think he definitely has a great role to play. I felt that he was very happy today (Sunday), the way he bowled and got those wickets is definitely going to help him.” Samson said
“His presence itself brings a lot of positive energy to the team. He looks a bit of a serious kind of guy, but he has a lot of fun inside the dressing room and in the bus. He likes to talk to people and I think people are learning a lot." Samson on Jos Buttler.
