All franchises of the Indian T20 League are currently busy preparing a good team for the next season. On 15 November, all teams will submit their list of all retained and released players to the Board for the next season. However, Gujarat won the last edition of the tournament. Mumbai have won this tournament the most number of times (5 times).
Rohit Sharma and his men have shown great quality over all these years to grabbing five titles. Kieron Pollard has been an instrumental member of the journey so far. But, reports were there that Mumbai might look to offload this veteran all-rounder ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023. But, on 15 November, the West Indies all-rounder announced his retirement from the tournament.
Kieron Pollard scored just 144 runs in 11 matches in the last edition of the Indian T20 League
Kieron Pollard has failed to show his class with both the bat and ball in recent years for Mumbai. In the last season, he scored just 144 runs in 11 matches, at an average of 14.40. With the ball, Pollard took just four wickets in 11 matches, at an economy of 8.93. In the 2021 season, Pollard took five wickets in 14 matches. With the bat, Kieron Pollard scored 245 runs in 14 matches, at an average of 30.62. So, after the last season, fans were also expecting to see some action regarding this player from the franchise.
But, now the West Indian all-rounder announced his retirement from this league. However, he will be seen with the franchise as the batting coach of the team. He shared a tweet and wrote that it will be difficult for him to wear any other franchise’s jersey in the Indian T20 League apart from Mumbai. In 2010, Mumbai bought Pollard for the first time. However, he will continue as the batting coach and will play for the franchise in the upcoming UAE T20 League. Pollard is among a small set of players who have represented only one franchise over their entire Indian T20 League careers.

Pollard didn't perform for West Indies. Bad stats. Didn't play for th çountry well. Starc did everything in his abilities for his country.
