Proving his loyalty, Suresh Raina always was convinced that he only wanted to play for Chennai in the Indian T20 League. He was a huge part of the team setup from the inception and won four titles with the team. Along with MS Dhoni, he was their biggest asset for all these years, and now he has been let go. Chinna Thala, Suresh Raina, was unsold in the Indian T20 mega auction 2022.
Except for the two seasons in which Chennai was banned, Suresh Raina was a part of the core Chennai team. The duo of Thala and Chinna Thala (MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina) has given us some great memories to cherish for a lifetime. Their consecutive wins in 2010 and 2011 were a major highlight for the team. The 2018 season where the players were united after two years is another major memory of the team.
