India defeated West Indies by 119 runs (DLS) in the third ODI to claim the series 3-0. A rain-interrupted match saw a brilliant all-rounded performance from the men in blue throughout the match. West Indies, on the other hand, looked low on energy and could not make much impact on the game.

Winning the toss, Shikhar Dhawan decided to bat first at Queen's Park Oval. India had a conservative start with the bat. Dhawan (58) and Shubman Gill took their time to settle in, and the bowlers could not build any pressure on them. Each accounted for a half-century in their partnership of 113 runs. The captain's wicket fell right before the rain interrupted the game.

After the restart, the game was shortened to 40 overs per side, and Gill and Shreyas Iyer stepped on the accelerator. The two were seeking quick runs, which they were able to achieve with constant boundaries. The duo put on an 86-run partnership when Iyer's (44) wicket fell in the 33rd over. The hosts took one more wicket before the second rain interruption. India did not bat again, and Gill remained stranded on 98 runs. The visitors managed 225 runs in 36 overs.

The Windies did not get off to a good start when chasing a target of 257 (DLS method) in 36 overs. In the second over alone, they lost two wickets to Mohammed Siraj. This perfectly set the tone for India. The Nicholas Pooran-led side could not build any significant partnerships and kept losing wickets.

The Indian bowlers, on the other hand, were at the top of their game and got great results. They bowled out the West Indies batting order for 136 runs in 26 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers with his four-wicket haul. Shardul Thakur and Siraj took two wickets each, while Prasidh Krishna and Axar Patel each took one.

For West Indies, only Pooran and Brandon King could manage some runs on the board, with each getting 42 runs. After the whitewash in the ODIs, the series will now move to the T20I leg.
