Pat Cummins returned to Kolkata at a base price of 7.25 crores after a few bids in the auction room. Placed in the set one of the marquee players, Cummins was a hot buy. The two new members Gujarat and Lucknow tried to get him, but Kolkata emerged as the winner.
Cummins led the Australian team recently an Ashes win of 4-0. They completely dominated the series and never let England have any chance to win any game. He was one of the star performers of the series as he led the bowling attack. In the ITL, he has 38 wickets in the 37 matches that he has played. He has an average and strike rate of 30.13 and 21.95 respectively.
Twitter had great reactions to the Australian quick returning to KKR. Some suggested that he was sold for a 50% price cut, and everyone suggested that he was a steal deal.
Here are some of the Twitter reactions:
Pat Cummins at 7.25 Crs is a steal. Very good if he comes good, can be a real wallet increase in the next auction if he doesn't, also a good captaincy option.

Pat Cummins for 7.25 crores is perfect as per his skill-set. Not overpaid like the 16 crore price tag earlier.
KKR now has 5 players:
Venky Iyer
Andre Russell
Sunil Narine
Pat Cummins
Varun Chakravarty4 of them can bat, all 5 can bowl. Setting up a nice overall core.

Meanwhile, he along with other Australian teammates will miss out on some of the early matches of the tournament as they will be touring Pakistan for a complete cricketing series. This will be the first time an Australian team will visit Pakistan in 28 years.
They also have a series against Sri Lanka as well post the tournament. " We certainly wonβt be releasing players to the IPL while Australia are playing,β said George Bailey in an interaction. Many players may not be available for some of the matches including Pat Cummins, David Warner, and Steve Smith.
