Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad locked horns in the 29th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. The hosts’ skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, the Sunrisers could manage to post only a total of 134 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Chennai Super Kings comfortably crossed the finishing line in overs and won the match by wickets. With this win, the Super Kings won four out of the six matches they played in the tournament.
The fans were also elated following CSK’s win against SRH at their home ground MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Fans took to Twitter and came up with an appreciation for Chennai Super Kings’ team effort including their bowling and batting.

Speaking of the action of the match, it was only the opener Abhishek Sharma who scored 34 runs off 26 balls with three boundaries and a six to his name. Other than him, only Rahul Tripathi could cross the individual mark of 20+ with a knock of 21 runs including a boundary and a six on his credit. Wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klassen and lower-order batter Marco Jansen scored 17 runs each.
On the back of these knocks, SRH somehow scored 134 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the first 20 overs of the game. Ravindra Jadeja scalped three wickets for CSK alongside one wicket each by Akash Singh, Maheesh Theekshana, and Matheesha Pathirana.
While chasing the target, the veteran CSK opener Devon Conway played a match-defining knock of runs off balls with boundaries and sixes with the wood. Other than him, young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad also contributed with the knock of 35 runs off 30 balls with two boundaries to his name.
Eventually, the hosts CSK won the match by wickets after scoring runs for the loss of wickets in overs.
