Trinbago Knight Riders and Jamaica Tallawahs locked horns in the 21st game of the ongoing CPL 2022 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. The venue has been a fortress over the years for TKR alongside the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad. Meanwhile, the home team was coming off a close win against St Lucia Kings. On the other hand, Jamaica was coming off two back-to-back wins.

Talking about the game between TKR and JT, the visitors won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision turned out to be the wrong one for two-time winners. Their six batters failed to cross the double-digit mark. The likes of Shamarh Brooks (20 off 21) and Imad Wasim (19 of 35) struggled badly against the Knight Riders' bowling attack. Thanks to Fabian Allen's 50 off 35 balls, the Green Brigade managed to reach 116/7.

For the four-time winners (TKR), veteran Ravi Rampaul was the star with the ball as he took four wickets. On the other hand, Sunil Narine, Akeal Hosein, and Daryl Dupavilion took one each.

The chase wasn't easy for the Trinbago Knight Riders

In reply, the home team had a poor start as they lost the opening pair of Nicholas Pooran and Tion Webster in the first two overs. Webster bagged a golden duck while the former batted for four balls but could score a run. Veteran Colin Munro and Tim Seifert stitched a partnership of 67 runs for the third wicket to bring some stability into the chase. Munro scored a quick 40off 28 while Seifert scored a steady 28 off 31 balls.

Munro was the third wicket to fall as he was cleaned up by Imad Wasim. After a while, the team lost the wickets of Narine, Siefert, and skipper Kieron Pollard and were reduced to 95/6. However, Akeal Hosein (14* off 19) and Andre Russell (18* off 12) took the team over the line and won the game by four wickets with five balls to spare.
