'The Pakistan way' - Fans shower praise on Babar Azam & co. as they whitewash Sri Lanka to win Test series by 2-0

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by a historic margin of an innings and 222 runs in the second Test to complete a remarkable whitewash. With that win, Babar Azam’s men clinched the two-match Test series by a clear margin of 2-0. Notably, it is the fifth Test series win for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.

Speaking of the action in the second Test of the two-match series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, the hosts skipper Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, Sri Lankan batter couldn’t survive the Pakistan bowling attack. The spin-pace duo of Abrar Ahmed and Naseem Shah scalped 4 and 3 wickets individually. Other than these two, the star pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi also claimed one wicket. On the back of these performances, Pakistan bundled up the Sri Lankans only on a score of 166 runs.

After bundling up Sri Lanka on a low total, Babar Azam’s men posted a mammoth total of 576 runs for the loss of 5 wickets before declaring the innings; they took an unbelievable lead of 310 runs after the end of the first innings. Star opener Abdullah Shafique smashed an amazing double ton, he scored 201 runs with 19 boundaries and 4 sixes. Other than Abdullah, middle-order batter Agha Salman also scored a brilliant century and went unbeaten on an individual score of 132 runs. The star of the first Test, Saud Shakeel also scored a half-century this time and contributed with 57 runs.

Later, Sri Lanka batters failed once again to face the Pakistan bowling attack and the duo of spinner Noman Ali and star pacer Naseem Shah bundled up the entire Sri Lankan team. Noman Ali scalped 7 wickets alongside 3 wickets claimed by Naseem Shah. The hosts could score only 188 runs in the second innings and lost the match by an innings and 222 runs.
