'The wait is over'- fans pleased with Virat Kohli's first half-century in the Indian T20 League 2022

Virat Kohli playing for the Bangalore team in the Indian T20 League 2022, did not have the best first half of the tournament. Apart from two 40+ scores in the season, he did not have had much of an impact. However, to everyone's excitement, Virat Kohli scored his first half-century of the season against Gujarat on Saturday.

The 33-year-old had a strategic start to the innings while opening the innings for the team. He looked in complete control of his game and played clean shots. He looked for gaps to score fours and reached his fifty in the 13th over with a single off Mohammad Shami. Virat took 45 balls to reach his first half-century this season. He had a muted celebration as he did not show a lot of aggression.

Rajat Patidar also gave Virat valuable support at the other end. He was taking the pressure off Kohli with his attacking game. Patidar, too, scored a half-century before he fell to Pradeep Sangwan in the 15th over. Virat Kohli was finally dismissed by Mohammad Shami in the 17th over with a brilliant yorker, which he failed to read. He hit 58 runs in 51 balls, with six boundaries and a six in the innings.

The fans on the internet were amazed by the performance of Virat Kohli. "He needed this desperately. Well played Kohli carry on!" a fan rightly pointed out. "The hunger, the fire in his eyes, the aggression, the intent, the runs..it's all back!! What shots uff," another fan wrote.
