On 23 October 2022, India and Pakistan will clash with each other in Melbourne. However, it will be their first match in this ongoing mega-event. Currently, both teams are busy playing warm-up matches ahead of that mega clash. But, now, former Pakistan skipper, Misbah-ul-Haq slammed the World Cup team of Pakistan for their overall fitness.
Speaking of Pakistan, they came to Australia after winning the T20I tri-series in New Zealand. Then, they played a warm-up game against England in Brisban on 17 October. However, the Men in Green lost the match and faced Afghanistan on 19 October in another warm-up match. But, now, Misbah-ul-Haq came up with some concerns ahead of the World Cup regarding Pakistan’s fitness.
"Their tummies are visible; their lower are heavy and they can't move.” - Misbah-ul-Haq on Pakistan
As said by Cricket Pakistan, Misbah-ul-Haq said that the overall fitness of Pakistan has not impressed him. He said: “Clear cut, fitness issues are visible, Waqar left four times
Misbah further added that players’ tummies are visible. Even, their lower are heavy and for that, they are being unable to move freely. “Their tummies are visible; their lower are heavy and they can't move. The reason behind this is there has not been a single fitness test, there is no benchmark." Misbah-ul-Haq concluded.
Speaking of Pakistan, they will be eager to do well in this year’s 20-20 World Cup. In the last edition of the tournament, they lost in the semi-final against the eventual winner, Australia. After defeating the Men in blue in that World Cup, they managed to defeat them again in the Asia Cup. So, they will look to start this mega event on a high by winning against India on 23 October 2022.
