India's last match of 2021 turned out to be a memorable one. Not only have they started the three-match Test series with a bang, but also managed to breach the Centurion for the first time. Besides, it wouldn't be an overstatement to say that the Kohli-led side have been sensational in the last 12 odd months.
While other teams struggle to win a game outside home, India have made it a habit to register overseas wins. Thus, former South Africa pacer Morne Morkel had heaps of praises for India. While talking Star Sports, he went on to call them the "best team in the world".
While congratulating the visitors on their fabulous victory, he felt that they deserved in and every appreciation towards them. Thus, he had the ultimate praise for the Asian giants.
For me, India are definitely leading the way: Morne Morkel
"Well Done. They (Team India) are by far the best team in the world today. In a short time now, you deserve it, they've worked long and hard to support their team that can go and compete away from home," said Morne Morkel, during the post-match show on Star Sports.
"The clear game plan that the bowlers can take 20 wickets; so enjoy this moment. I think it's a special feat to be a part of. For me, India are definitely leading the way," he added. Thus, he was mighty impressed with India's pace attack as well.
It is to be noted that a series win in the rainbow nation has eluded India for 29 years. However, this is their best chance to create history. While the second Test will be played in Johannesburg from Jan. 3-7, the third is set for Cape Town from Jan. 11-15.
