Both India and Pakistan are currently preparing for the 20-20 World Cup. Both teams will face each other on 23 October 2022 in Melbourne. But, in the past few days, both Boards of these countries made headlines regarding the recent development of Asia Cup 2023. Initially, reports were there that India might visit Pakistan for the tournament next year.

On 18 October, Jay Shah dismissed that by saying that the tournament will happen in a neutral venue. Due to political reasons, both teams are not allowed to visit each other’s country. After that, many fans slammed the Indian Board for taking such a decision. Even, the Pakistan Board shared a statement regarding their stand over the whole matter. Now, Waqar Younis opened up on that overall saga.

“They want to damage Pakistan” - Waqar Younis on Asia Cup 2023 saga

While speaking during a discussion on A Sports, Waqar Younis said that the decision is not from the Indian Board. It only came from the top. He said: “I don't think this is the Indian cricket board's decision. Misbah had said earlier that this was coming from the top. They have a simple policy that they don't want to play against Pakistan or tour the country, because cricket is watched by many.”

Younis also added that India only want to damage Pakistan's Cricket. “They want to damage Pakistan, as simple as that. Pakistan should take a stand, and I think PCB gave a good statement. We have to take care of Pakistan cricket, and we have to look after our dignity and respect because that is more important than playing cricket with them. We will see what happens over the next few days.” Waqar Younis concluded.

Speaking of the whole incident, it all started when Jay Shah said that they will send the team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. But, fans might look to avoid such noise for now as everyone will look for the mega clash between India and Pakistan.
