Australia beat defending champions England in the finals of the Women's World Cup by 71 runs to lift their 7th title. England won the toss and decided to have a bowl first.  Alyssa Healy and Rachel Haynes added 160 runs on the board for the first wicket before Haynes was dismissed in the 30th over. She scored 68 runs in 93 balls. Beth Mooney then joined Healy at the crease. They too continued the momentum to lay a platform for a strong finish. Mooney scored a quickfire 62 in 47 balls, and Healy went on to score 170 runs in 138 balls, hitting 26 fours in the match. They reached a massive score of 356 in the first innings.

In the end, Australia lost a few wickets which restricted them to some extent, credit to Anya Shurbsole. She picked up three wickets in the match, conceding just 46 runs in her 10 overs. Apart from her, only Sophie Ecclestone took a wicket in the match.

In the chase, England had an inadequate start to their innings. They lost a couple of early wickets to dent their chase. Natalie Sciver held on one end by scoring 148 runs in 121 balls but didn't find support from other end. She hit 15 fours and a six in the innings. England were eventually restricted to 285 runs in 43.4 overs.

With the ball, Jess Jonassen bagged three wickets, conceding 57 runs in 8.4 overs. Alana King also claimed three wickets, conceding 64 runs in 10 overs. Megan Schutt picked two wickets while Tahlia McGrath and Ashleigh Gardner took a wicket each.
