Bangalore is locking horns with Gujarat in the 36th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Brabourne Stadium. This decision turned out to be a great one for them they rocked Bangalore with early breakthroughs.
Marco Jansen took the first wicket in the second over of the game. He dismissed Faf du Plessis for five. On the very next delivery, Jansen got the better of Virat Kohli to leave Bangalore in turmoil. Jansen delivered a full-pitched delivery around Kohli's off-stump, to which the batter poked tentatively. This produced an edge that landed securely in Aiden Markram's hands at the second slip. Kohli was devastated after being dismissed for a golden duck.
Notably, this was the second consecutive golden duck for Virat Kohli. Earlier, he was dismissed for 0 against Lucknow as well. Kohli has been going through a lean patch and has accumulated just 119 runs in the eight matches so far. Meanwhile, fans were disappointed with Kohli's yet another failure.
A fan suggested that he should take a break and return to the game with good form. He suggested that his place in the Indian team will be in danger. "Mr @imVkohli its serious now. Please take a break and come back afresh with great form. Otherwise, @BCCI headed by @SGanguly99 and @chetans1987 will never spare you," he said.
Speaking of the game, Bangalore did not have a good time in the middle. They kept losing wickets and were all out for just 68.
