This is the best I have seen James Anderson bowl: VVS Laxman

England pacer James Anderson is getting better with age as he once again dominated the Indian batting unit on Day 2 of the 4th Test. The 38-year-old exhibited his class on Friday as he kept the pressure on the hosts with top-class spells. James Anderson had given his side the early breakthrough towards the end of Day 1 as he dismissed Shubman Gill for 0 in the first over. On Tuesday, bowling with the new ball, the pacer was flawless as he gave nothing away to Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara. Anderson kept bowling one maiden after the other in the first hour. The England pacer formed a fair bowling partnership with Ben Stokes, who bowled his heart out as well.

The two England pacers put the brakes on the Indian batting line-up. India managed to score just 56 runs in 25 overs in the first session and lost three crucial wickets. Jack Leach and Ben Stokes struck to dismiss Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli in quick succession. Anderson got the big wicket of Ajinkya Rahane just at the stroke of Lunch.

Rishabh Pant smashed a sensational 118-ball 101 to rescue India from 146/6

James Anderson bowled as many as ten maidens in the 14 overs. The pacer had bowled a little after Lunch as he continued to put pressure on the India batsmen. The hosts were reduced to 80 for four at the break on Day 2, trailing England's first-innings target by 125 runs.

India ended Day 2 with a lead of 89 runs against England in the ongoing fourth Test. The hosts were 294 for seven at Stumps. Rishabh Pant's brilliant century and Washington Sundar's unbeaten half-century helped India to remain in the contest. The duo put on a 113-run partnership for the seventh wicket to bail India out of trouble. The Indian cricket team had a poor start to the day as they lost Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane cheaply. India will now look to extend its advantage on the match on Day 3. Both the top-notch teams went into this series in contention to make the World Test Championship final. However, only one of them, India, can now make it. Nevertheless, England still has a crucial role to play in determining who plays against New Zealand in the World Test Championship final.
