India Legends and England Legends locked horns in the 14th game of the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2022 in Dehradun. The game was affected by the rain which is why it was a 15-over affair. England won the toss and elected to field first. However, their decision started proving costly as openers, Sachin Tendulkar and Naman Ojha stitched a partnership of 65 runs in 5.4 overs.

The latter got out to Stephen Parry after scoring 20 off 17 balls. Sachin followed next after scoring 40 off just 20 balls as he was caught and bowled by Chirs Schofield. At 67/2, Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan added 40 runs for the third wicket. Pathan did most of the scoring with Raina scoring 12. The latter was the third wicket to fall on the bowling of Perry. Yusuf (27) followed soon as he became the third victim of Perry.

All-rounder Stuart Binny scored 18 off just 11 balls before being run-out by Jade Dernback. Yuvraj Singh (31* off 15 balls) and Irfan Pathan (11 off nine) took the team to a strong total of 170/5 at the end of the innings.

England Legends failed to chase down the target

In reply, the Red Brigade had a fine start with 50 runs in 5.5 overs but lost two wickets. Rajesh Pawar cleaned up Dmitri Mascarenhas (12) while Pragyan Ojha managed to lure Ian Bell (12) to get him out stumped. Rikki Clarke (9) was the third wicket to fall as he was clean bowled by Stuart Binny.

With every passing over, the required run rate kept creeping up as the Ian Bell-led side was failing to keep up. Phil Mustard and Tim Ambrose tried their best but failed to put up a big score. Eventually, the team lost the game by 40 runs. For India, Rajesh Pawar took three wickets while Binny, Ojha, and Manpreet Gony took one each.
