Australian legend Shane Warne was given a state funeral earlier today, March 30, with 50000 people attending the event at the MCG. Many celebrities who knew Warne were in attendance or delivered video messages. Keith Warne, Shane Warne's father, also had a special message on his son's life.

"That light will continue to burn forever. He had the star quality and charisma that the world got to know and love and that it was the same on the doorstep as it was on the cricket field," said Australian singer Kylie Minogue in her video.

Ed Shereen, another close friend of Warne's, also had a message for the late cricketer. In the video, he also performed Warne's favourite song 'Thinking Out Loud'.

"Shane was an incredible human to me and every single person that he came across. I’ve just got such wonderful stories of him. People that he didn’t even know have wonderful stories of him – he gave so much of his time and energy and love to. He was such a great bloke," he said in the video.

Keith Warne, Warne's father, was visibly moved on the stage as he spoke about his son's life. He claimed that the death of his kid was the worst day in his family's history. He also stated that Warne lived a life that many people would struggle to live in two lives. "Shane was always about putting smiles on people’s faces," he remarked.

The Great Southern Stand was also renamed in Warne's honour as part of the ceremony. The 52-year Australian passed away on 4th of March during his trip to Thailand. He is suspected to have passed away due to a heart attack. The autopsy report confirmed that Warne died of a natural cause.
