Delhi is all set to play their next game against Lucknow on the 7th of April. They are coming from a loss against Gujarat by 14 runs in their last game. The Rishabh Pant-led team has blown hot and cold. They need to be a lot more consistent to become if they are to win the tournament. Here are some of the changes that Delhi needs to make to get their campaign back on track.
David Warner replacing Tim Seifert
David Warner is now available for selection to the Delhi team. He is an explosive batter and can provide great solidarity at the top of the order. Tim Siefert, on the other hand, has not looked very impressive in the two chances he got. With Warner at the top and Prithvi Shaw on the other side, Delhi will now have one of the best opening pairs in the tournament.
Anrich Nortje replacing Khaleel Ahmed
Delhi played their first match with just two overseas players and their next game with three overseas players. This void can now be filled with Anrich Nortje having recovered from his injury. Anrich Nortje has been an important player for the Delhi team in the past and will be crucial to them this time too. Khaleel Ahmed has been good as well, but he will have to make way for Anrich Nortje.
Pace their innings properly
While chasing Gujarat's modest 171 runs, Delhi lost a few early wickets which put a lot of pressure on the middle order. Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav tried their best but the team lost by 14 runs. Delhi needs to get a solid start and not lose many wickets at the top. This will give players like Rishabh Pant and Rovman Powell to play their natural game.
