India Cricket Team has struggled in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 as they have lost to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super Four round. They started well in the Group stages of the tournament by winning against Pakistan and Hong Kong. It seemed as if the defending champions would storm into the final once again. However, the change of stages in the tournament seems to have changed their fortunes, negatively.

At the current stage, they are most likely to be eliminated from the tournament. During the Super Four, the team seemed to have been choking in the tense moments of the game. In the games they lost, they might have won if not for the faltering in the death overs, either with the bat or a ball. Meanwhile, in this listicle, we will discuss three changes the Men In Blue need to do well in the 20-20 World Cup.

Three changes India needs to make to perform well in the 20-20 World Cup

  1. Decide on which player will bat at number seven

In the ongoing continental tournament, Dinesh Karthik has played only one game and has been warming the bench since then. In the last few months, he was the designated finisher for the team batting at number seven. However, in this tournament, team management has also tested Deepak Hooda for the role.

Hooda has failed spectacularly in the role as he is a batter who is skilled to bat at number five at most. With the 20-20 World Cup nearing as days pass by, the team needs to decide which one of them will play as finishers.

2. Replace Avesh Khan with Deepak Chahar

Pacer Avesh Khan has been extremely inconsistent in the last few months with the ball. In most of the games, the opposition batters have treated him as cannon fodder for themselves. The ongoing Asia Cup was no different for him.

On the other hand, Deepak Chahar, who made his comeback in the series against Zimbabwe is warming the bench. It was baffling for the fans to see him sitting on the sidelines even after Khan was ruled out due to a fever. If India wants to do well, they need to think on the matter as soon as possible.

3. Replace Ravindra Jadeja with Axar Patel if need be

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out ahead of the Super Four round of the Asia Cup. He has been ruled out due to a knee injury.  It has been reported that he might be ruled out of the 20-20 World Cup.

Axar Patel has been named his replacement in the tournament. He hasn't played a game in the tournament. If Jadeja gets ruled out, Patel needs to be inducted into the team for the showpiece event.
