T20I series

With a new format coming up, England will strive to start fresh when they take on India in the five-match T20I series. The shortest format of the game is going to start from March 12 in Ahmedabad.

With the Test series win, India has booked a ticket to the ICC World Test Championship finale. There were numerous pitch debates in the Test series, but that discussion is unlikely to continue as we proceed towards the limited-overs series. The forthcoming T20 series will be India's first limited-overs assignment at home after the long break due to COVID-19.

On the other hand, England has played two T20I series at home against Australia and Pakistan. England defeated Australia 2-1, while the series against Pakistan end in a draw (1-1). England is currently the number one ranked T20I side. The Men in Blue occupy the third position.

Three English players who are likely to play crucial roles in the T20I series

Eoin Morgan

Eoin Morgan is back at the captaincy for England. The cricketer is one of the most destructive middle-order batsmen in the shortest format currently. Keeping the 34-year-old quiet will be crucial for the Indian cricket team.

Dawid Malan

Dawid Malan is the top-ranked T20I player in the world at the moment. Having first made an impression with a brilliant century against Sri Lanka A in Northampton in 2016, Malan became one of the most famous names in the shortest format worldwide. The 33-year-old featured in this year's Big Bash League and Pakistan Super League. Recently, Dawid Malan was picked up by Punjab Kings and will play in the IPL 2021

Ben Stokes

The all-rounder started the Test series against India with a bang, scoring 82 runs. But then struggled big against Ravichandran Ashwin. The southpaw will be looking for a change in the fortunes in the game's shortest format, with no Ashwin in the Indian team.
