Three IPL franchises that can pick Glenn Maxwell

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League was the most competitive one so far in the league history. The tournament witnessed some heart-thumping action and high-octane clashes among the teams. There were multiple heroic innings and some failures as well. One of the biggest names to fail during the 13th edition of the IPL was Glenn Maxwell. 

The big name from Kings XI Punjab was perhaps the biggest flop show in IPL 2020. Maxwell failed to perform in almost every match with the bat. The Australian cricketer just scored 108 runs from 13 games at a strike rate of 15.42. The team management has released the player ahead of the IPL auction 2021.

1. Royal Challengers Bangalore

Virat Kohli's franchise had a decent season as the side managed to reach the Knockout stage. RCB finished fourth on the points table in IPL 2020. Recently, the franchise released several players ahead of the IPL Auction 2021. 

There can be a possibility of the team management trying their hand on Glenn Maxwell. The Australian cricketer could be a great asset to the team. Maxwell can provide the alternative option of opening the innings with the ball along with Washington Sundar. 

2. Chennai Super Kings

The three-time IPL champions who failed miserably in the last season, CSK can consider roping in players like Glenn Maxwell in the team. He can come in as a replacement of Shane Watson as he can also open the innings. After his impressive performance in the white-ball series against India, the all-rounder can be one of the season's hottest picks. Glenn Maxwell can add value to the side if they wish to include him in the squad. His outstanding ball-striking ability could help him grab a contract with the Chennai Super Kings.

3. Delhi Capitals

A franchise like Delhi has the most formidable pace bowling attack that can easily dismantle the opposition. However, it was their batting line-up that was a matter of concern for the young team. The drop of form in the latter half of the tournament changed the momentum of their game. The franchise has several big names like Stoinis, Dhawan, Shaw, Iyer, and Pant.
