Only a few days are left in the Indian T20 League 2022 auction. A total of 590 players are shortlisted to go under the hammer. Lucknow will be making their debut in the Indian T20 League. They have already picked KL Rahul as their captain, while they will also have the services of Ravi Bishnoi and Marcus Stoinis. However, the job is not done and they will be eyeing some other big players in the auction. In this listicle, we will discuss three players Lucknow Super Giants can target during the two-day auction in Bangalore. Continue Reading to know about players.

Faf du Plessis

The former South Africa skipper has largely played for four-time champions and holders Chennai. In seasons 2016 and 2017, he played for now-defunct Pune Super Giants. He can still wield the willow with effectiveness and is a gun fielder at the age of 37.

The right-hander has scored more than 300 runs for the CSK whenever he has played except in 2018. In that year, he only played six games.

Overall, he has amassed 2935 runs in 100 games for the Men In Yellow, averaging 34.94 and a strike rate of 131.08. Last year, he was just two runs (633) behind Orange Cap-winner and teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad. Before the second leg of the last ITL, he scored a match-winning hundred for St Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League. The 37-year-old has a point to prove as he wasn't picked in the South Africa squad for the 20-20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman.

The Pretoria-born player can be a good opening partner for skipper KL Rahul in the team. Both players are attacking in nature, although Rahul played conservatively for Punjab albeit weak middle-order of the team.

 Shimron Hetmyer

The Guyana-born player played for Bangalore in 2018 and Delhi since 2019. The 2016 U19 World Cup winner played 31 games for Capitals and amassed 517 runs, averaging 25.85 and a strike rate of 151.16. These numbers are very impressive for a player who has batted in the middle and lower middle-order for a team. In his CPL team Guyana Amazon Warriors, the left-hander bat at number three. With him in the middle order, the likes of KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis can play with freedom.

Josh Hazlewood

Once touted as a bowler for ODI and Test format, Hazlewood has evolved as a T20 bowler. In the 20-20 World Cup played in the UAE and Oman last year, he was the fourth-highest wicket-taker for Australia. The right-arm pacer picked 11 wickets and helped his side win the ever-elusive cup for the first time. In the ITL, playing for Chennai Super Kings, he picked 12 wickets at an average of 29 and at an economy rate of 7.93, which is impressive for a bowler. His skills with the new ball can be vital.
