India is all set to take on England in a three-match ODI series. The ODI matches of India's tour of England are all set to go underway at the Kennington Oval in London on the 12th of July. Both the teams will see some of their star players returning to represent the team after a while. All of these players will have a lot of expectations to perform well in the three-match series. Here are the players to watch out for in the ODI series between India and England.
Shikhar Dhawan
After missing out on India's last few T20I series against South Africa, Ireland, and England, Shikhar Dhawan has made his way to the ODI squad. There were numerous rumours that Shikhar Dhawan's spot in the Indian squad was in jeopardy, but he has made it. However, this might be his last chance to prove his worth.
The opening batter is coming out of a decent season of the Indian T20 League 2022. He scored 460 runs at an average of 38.33 in 14 matches that he played for Punjab. He also hit three half-centuries in the season. The southpaw will also aim to score some runs in the ODI series.
Joe Root
Former England Test captain Joe Root has been in outstanding form in the longest format of the game over the last year and a half. In the meantime, he has not played a white-ball game for England in almost a year. This will be a comeback series for the 31-year-old.
Root would want to make the most out of this opportunity. More recently, he excelled in the rescheduled fifth Test against India as well as the three-match Test series against New Zealand. He scored three centuries in the last four matches. He will now try to maintain his success in the ODI series.
Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav has only played seven matches in the ODI format so far but has looked good in his few appearances. He already has scored two half-centuries and has an average of 53.4. The 31-year-old would like to keep his strong form in this format going. However, he would want to improve his strike rate of 103.1.
He is coming out of a spectacular end to the three-math T20I series against England. He scored a century in the final match to almost complete the huge chase of 216 runs. Suryakumar would like to continue scoring runs at a swift pace in the 50-over format as well.
