T Natarajan has been ruled out from the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League. Sources have confirmed that the pacer will be missing the tournament due to a knee injury. The 30-year-old left-arm seamer did not play the last two games of SRH. He just featured in the first two games of the season and picked up two wickets. Sunrisers Hyderabad will now need to look for a suitable replacement for the Tamil Nadu pacer.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has already filled the overseas quota of 8 foreign cricketers in the team. The David Warner-led team will have to look for an Indian bowler to replace T Natarajan. Here we take a look at 3 players who can replace T Natarajan in the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in IPL 2021.
1. Baba Aparajith
Baba Aparajith is one of the most talented cricketers in the domestic circuit. The Tamil Nadu all-rounder has not received a single chance to prove his worth in the IPL. Earlier, Aparajith was picked by Chennai Super Kings in the squad. He was also a part of the Rising Pune Supergiant. Thus, if SRH’s wants, then Baba Aparajith could be the perfect replacement of T Natarajan.
2. Varun Aaron
Varun Aaron could be a possible replacement for T Natarajan, considering he has a lot of IPL experience. Since his IPL debut in 2011, Varun Aaron has featured in 50 IPL matches. He has picked up 42 wickets. The pacer had a base price of Rs. 50 lakhs in IPL 2021 mini-auction but remained unsold. The right-arm seamer has played for Delhi Capitals from IPL 2011 to IPL 2013. He was also part of Royal Challengers Bangalore from IPL 2014 to IPL 2016. In IPL 2017 and IPL 2018, the pacer was part of Kings XI Punjab.
3. Mohit Sharma
Former IPL Purple Cap holder Mohit Sharma featured for the Delhi Capitals in the 2020 IPL. However, Delhi Capitals had released him earlier this year. The right-arm pacer went unsold in the mini-auction. However, due to his IPL experience, SRH might consider him an option for T Natarajan’s replacement. In his entire IPL career, Mohit Sharma has played 86 matches has picked up 92 wickets at an economy of 8.44. He has been a part of Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab in his career in the IPL.
