The T20 World Cup 2022 is quickly approaching, and India is optimistic about its chances. While their batting is not much of an issue, India's bowling has emerged as a major issue ahead of the mega event. Jasprit Bumrah's injury has added to their problems. Captain Rohit Sharma and Head Coach Rahul Dravid will face a monumental task in filling this void. Here are the reasons why India's bowling can hamper the chance of winning the title.
Death Bowling Issues
The most concerning factor in recent times has been India's death bowling. Indian bowlers have been leaking a lot of runs in the death since the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. Even star pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has leaked runs in the death.
The young Arshdeep Singh will have a huge responsibility to do well in these overs in Australia. In the absence of Bumrah, he will be the death bowling specialist in the team. Harshal Patel will most likely be the backup option, and he, too, must perform well.
Injury Concerns
Injuries have been a big concern for the Indian team off late, especially to the bowlers. India will head to the tournament without two of their most experienced bowlers, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah. This significantly reduces the team's experience.
Axar Patel is a comparable replacement for Jadeja, but India lacks a replacement for Bumrah. The 28-year-old has established himself as India's lead bowler. Mohammed Shami can be a potential replacement for the star pacer.
Lack Of Wickets In Middle Overs

While Indian bowlers can get wickets in the powerplay, their inability to get wickets in the middle overs has troubled them. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the most experienced player in the squad, has proved to be very expensive in the middle overs.
Bhuvneshwar, along with Yuzvendra Chahal, will bear significant responsibility in the middle overs. They must ensure that batters do not settle in and take their wickets before forming important partnerships.
