Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana recorded the highest first-wicket partnership for India

After the resumption of the play during the second innings, Shafali Verma scored another fifty on debut for India. With this, she has become the youngest player to score fifty in both innings of a Test. The England cricket team is well on the top of the ongoing game after India's collapse. The hosts will have to get through a talented Indian batting line-up again. However, their chances of victory were hindered by the weather and Shafali Verma's knock in both the innings. Earlier in the first inning, the 17-year-old slammed 96 runs in 152 deliveries to help her team surpass the 150-mark without losing any wickets.

Shafali Verma, along with Smriti Mandhana, recorded the highest first-wicket partnership for India in the ongoing Test match against England. The previous best opening partnership was 132 runs for the first wicket. It was scored by Anju and Chanderkanta back in the year 1999.

After the completion of the Test series, India's women team is going to play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and as many T20 Internationals (T20Is) against England. Both sides will lock horns in three ODIs commencing from June 27. All the games are going to take place at Bristol, Taunton, and Worcester. India and England will then play in three T20Is, beginning July 9, and the three games will be played at Northampton, Hove, and Chelmsford.

Shafali Verma is also going to represent Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred under the leadership of New Zealand's Sophie Devine. The other four Indian players who are going to be a part of the tournament are Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodriguez, Deepti Sharma, and Harmanpreet Kaur.
