The fans were eagerly waiting for the decision of MS Dhoni for his appearance in next year’s IPL as it was speculated that the IPL 2023 would be his last appearance in the tournament. Although Dhoni gave joy to his fans with the recent statement on his retirement or appearance in the Indian Premier League 2024.
Dhoni said that he is not retiring at the moment but it would also be hard to stay fit for the next season. This happened to give hope to the ardent MS Dhoni fans still want to see him playing in the next season of the Indian Premier League.
"Circumstantially this is the best moment for me to announce my retirement but seeing the love and affection they have shown everywhere I go; I will see how the body remains in the next 9 months and take a decision,” said Dhoni to Harsha Bhogle during the post-match presentation after the historic IPL title win against Gujarat Titans in the final of the tournament.
"I need to give them a gift. It won't be easy for me for one more season, but I'll work best,” he added later.

Notably, Dhoni has now jointly become the second most successful skipper in the history of the Indian Premier League. He is the second captain in the history of the tournament to win the five titles for his team as captain after Rohit Sharma who has lifted five trophies for Mumbai Indians.
Apart from this, the losing skipper of the IPL 2023 final, Hardik Pandya came up with a statement for MS Dhoni and another IPL title win as captain.
