India are currently taking on England in the rescheduled Test match at the Edgbaston Stadium. After winning the toss, Ben Stokes put India in the middle to bat first. However, the Indian batters did not have an ideal start. The visitors lost some early wickets, bringing Virat Kohli to the strike. However, he, too, wasn't able to do well for the team.

The batter got out after scoring just 11 runs in 19 balls. His dismissal became one of the talking points of the first day's play. Matty Potts bowled a full delivery on the sixth stump line, and the batter was in a double mind to leave the ball alone or not. He decided to pull back the shot and leave it, but he took this call at the last moment. The ball took an inside edge, and struck his stumps.

Fans were unhappy with the way the 33-year-old approached his innings in the difficult conditions of England. "No doubt you are a great player but the current phase is overshadowing past performance. I guess it's time to go back to county/domestic cricket since there would be less performance anxiety and u can get back your confidence. Be hopeful!" a fan suggested on Twitter.

"The way a batsman gets out determines his form. If a batter gets out so ugly then he is terribly out of form. #ViratKohli𓃵 a due is already there," another fan wrote.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja got India back into the game after the team had lost five wickets for a score of 98 runs. The former went on to score a brilliant and quick century in the match. He scored 146 runs in 111 balls in the match. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja played with discipline and remained not out on 83 runs in 163. At the end of day one, India were 338/7.

Jadeja will resume the proceedings on the second day along with Mohammad Shami. They would want to add some quick runs on the board before England takes any more wickets.
