Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson has been in the headlines after continuously being avoided from the playing XI of India for a long time. He also missed the first ODI of the ongoing three-match series against West Indies. Now, both teams are set to lock horns in the second ODI of the series in a few hours.
Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricket turned broadcaster, has come up with a bold statement on the possibilities of Sanju Samson making it to the Indian playing XI. Chopra believes that Samson will not get a chance now owing to various factors, including Ishan Kishan’s presence in the team.
"There might be a question in your mind that can Sanju play. Sanju Samson will not be able to play now. It is because only one match has happened, you didn't play him in the first match and you didn't get Ishan Kishan to bat at No. 4 as well,” said Aakash Chopra in a video on his YouTube Channel.
"You are thinking about Suryakumar Yadav to bat at No. 6 at the moment. So, no matter how much outrage is there, this story is not going to fly at this point in time. It is a slightly unfortunate fact that Sanju Samson will not get a chance,” he added.

Apart from that, Chopra also spoke about what India should do if they win the toss. In his opinion, if the Men in Blue want to push their limits and take on a challenge, they should go up to bat first. "To challenge yourself, bat first if you win the toss. It might be slightly difficult at the start but how else do you challenge yourself? How will you prepare for the World Cup if you do the easy jobs?" said Chopra.
Meanwhile, Chopra’s statement about Sanju Samson didn’t go down well with some Indian cricket fans. They immediately took to Twitter and came up with a lot of reactions in the Indian batter's favour. Fans also questioned the inclusion of Ishan Kishan in the playing XI.
