In what comes as shocking news for Tennis viewers, Rafael Nadal lost to Frances Tiafoe to crash out of the ongoing US Open 2022. With this loss, Nadal's winning streak of 22 wins has been broken as well. In the quest to make a place in the quarterfinal, the legendary player lost the game by 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. With this victory, Frances qualified for the top-eight clashes for the first time in the tournament.
After the game, the American couldn't believe it and stated that he was beyond happy and was almost in tears. The 22nd-ranked player's parents were also present at the venue to see their son create history. The Sierra Leone-born player didn't have enough words to explain how his parents felt watching him beat the world's number two player. He further added that he would tell his grandkids about the victory.
“I’m beyond happy, almost in tears, I can’t believe it. I played unbelievable tennis today. I really don’t know what happened.”
"To see them experience me beat Rafa Nadal -- they've seen me have big wins, but to beat those Mount Rushmore guys?" said Tiafoe, a 24-year-old American player seeded 22nd at the US Open. "For them, I can't imagine what was going through their heads. I mean, they're going to remember today for the rest of their lives."
"It's something to tell the kids, the grandkids: 'Yeah, I beat Rafa,'" Tiafoe said with a big smile.
The difference is simple, I played a bad game: Rafael Nadal
On the other hand, Nadal, who crashed out of the tournament stated that he played a bad game while his opponent played a good one.
"Well, the difference is easy: I played a bad match, and he played a good match," said Nadal, who has won a record 22 Grand Slam titles. "At the end, that's it."
This victory has come after Nick Kyrgios eliminated the World Number One and defending champion, Daniil Medvedev from the tournament.

If you had said in December 2021 that Rafael Nadal would win 2 of the next 4 slams, and have a chance to be World #1 again, not many wouldn’t have believed it.
Yet he did it.
He may have lost tonight, but 2022 has been a special season, and, the best part is, it’s not over. pic.twitter.com/1I5d9JSOrY
