The Indian athletes are putting on an absolute show in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 by giving it their all to bag the coveted gold medal. And one such person was Ravi Dahiya who, fought his way in the men’s freestyle 57kg, but the match grabbed the attention for all the wrong reasons.

Rather than what was expected to be a good contest between two players in the semis, turned out to be a sour affair when Kazakhstan grappler Nurislam Sanayev was seen biting Ravi on his arm during the closing stages of the knockout match. This sheer act of disrespectfulness towards an opponent was not liked by many onlookers, who took to social media to express their displeasure.

Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag was too among the many experts who didn’t like the shameful act of Sanayev and took to Twitter to slam him. “How unfair is this, couldn’t hit our #RaviDahiya’s spirit, so bit his hand. Disgraceful Kazakh loser Nurislam Sanayev. Ghazab Ravi, bahut seena chaunda kiya aapne #Wrestling,” Many of his followers replied to his tweet echoing similar sentiments as that of him. Although Dahiya stormed into the finals, the match will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Meanwhile, the Men’s hockey team ended their Tokyo 2020 on a high by securing a bronze medal by beating Germany 5-4. The win ended a losing streak for the Men’s hockey team. Sehwag appreciated the efforts of the Men’s hockey team and wrote: “Chak De Fattey! Burraaah A landmark day for @TheHockeyIndiaAfter being down 3-1, INDIA fights back to win the bronze medal match 5-3, a first Olympic medal in #Hockey after 40 years. Mazaa aa gaya #IndvsGer.”
