India are all set to play the white-ball series against England after the end of the rescheduled fifth Test match. The squad for the same was announced on Thursday. The three-match T20I series will begin on the 7th of July, while the three-match ODI series will start on the 12th of July.

Notably, two different squads for the T20I series are announced. Players like Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rishabh Pant, who will play in the Test match, have been rested for the first match. However, they will return to the team for the next two matches in the series. In the final two games, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Rahul Tripathi, Venkatesh Iyer, and Arshdeep Singh will make way for these players.

Meanwhile, fans aren't too pleased with the team's selection. Fans questioned why Sanju Samson was only picked for a solitary T20I match. Samson played some fine knocks for Rajasthan in the Indian T20 League 2022. He also struck a stunning half-century in the recent encounter against Ireland. Notably, this was his first international fifty.

For many years, the 27-year-old has been in and out of the Indian team. He made his T20I debut for India in 2015, but he has only played only 15 games, since.

On the other hand, the fans wondered why Rishabh Pant is still getting a chance to play in white-ball cricket. His figures in T20I and ODI cricket have been underwhelming for an attacking player. He got an opportunity to captain the Indian team in the recent T20I series against South Africa, despite the fact that his numbers aren't so great in the format.

"Too big a pool to choose from. Why do we need Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant in the T20Is? Rahul Tripathi and Sanju Samson are any day better options. And Arshdeep being the only left-arm fast bowling option should have been continued maybe in place of Avesh, Harshal or Umran," a fan tweeted after the squad announcement.

Here's a look at some of the reactions:
