MI endured a rollercoaster ride in the IPL this year. The 5-time IPL champions started their IPL 2021 campaign on a poor note. In the 1st match of IPL 2021, MI lost to RCB by 2 wickets. However, MI managed to pull off some victories during the end of the season. Quite a few talents looked promising with the ball and bat from the MI squad. That said, here are 3 MI players who cay lay the foundation for their future prospects in the IPL:

1. Suryakumar Yadav

At no 1 in this list is MI batsman Suryakumar Yadav. Yadav had a fantastic outing with MI in the IPL last year. In 16 matches in IPL 2020, Suryakumar Yadav amassed an impressive 480 runs in total. The batsman also consistently notched runs for MI in the suspended IPL 2021. In 7 matches, Yadav amassed 173 runs at an impressive strike rate of 144.16. Yadav has been an important player for the MI side since IPL 2018. There are high chances that Yadav will be retained by MI for the next IPL season.

2. Hardik Pandya

At no 2 in this list is Indian all rounder Hardik Pandya. Pandya did not have the best IPL season this year. In 7 matches, Pandya managed to amass only 52 runs in total. However, Hardik Pandya has been MI’s most consistent all rounder for quite some time. In 87 matches in his IPL career, Pandya has amassed an impressive 1401 runs in total. Pandya has also scalped a total of 42 wickets in his IPL career. The 27 year old is the most likely candidate to replace Rohit Sharma as the captain of MI in the future.

3. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is arguably one of MI’s important bowlers in the IPL. The 27 year old finished as the 2nd highest wicket taker in IPL 2020, with 27 wickets in 15 matches. This year in the IPL, Bumrah scalped 6 wickets in 7 matches for MI. Even though he didn’t pick lots of wickets this season, Bumrah managed to maintain a superb bowling economy of 7.11. MI skipper Rohit Sharma will back Jasprit Bumrah to find his form in the next season of the IPL.
