The IPL 2021 has been host to some scintillating, edge-of-the-seat cricketing action. While some batsmen have taken the IPL by storm, some bowlers completely changed the entire complexion of the match with some magical bowling spells. That said, here are the best bowling spells in the IPL 2021 so far:

5. Harshal Patel (5/27)

Harshal Patel created history after he became the 1st ever bowler to bag a fifer against MI. In 4 overs, Patel scalped 5 wickets and conceded only 27 runs in total. The 30-year-old got the better of Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan in the 16th  and 18th over respectively. In the final over of MI’s innings, Patel dismissed Pollard, Marco Jansen, and Krunal Pandya, as MI finished with 159 runs. In the end, RCB somehow managed to chase the total and won the match by 2 wickets.

4. Andre Russell (5/15)

Even though Russell ended on the losing side, he put up a fine show with the ball against MI. The West Indian became the 2nd bowler after Harshal Patel to bag a fifer against Mumbai. Russell bowled only 2 overs, scalping 5 wickets and conceding 15 runs in total. Russell’s heroics with the ball helped KKR restrict Mumbai to 152. However, a sensational comeback of MI helped them win the match by 10 runs.

3. Shahbaz Ahmed (3/7)

Ahmed’s brilliant spell of 3/7 helped RCB pull off a sensational comeback against SRH. In his final over, Ahmed got the better of Abdul Samad, Manish Pandey, and Jonny Bairstow. What was more impressive about his final over was that he conceded only 1 run in the entire over. With the help of Shahbaz Ahmed, RCB defended 149 and won the match by 6 runs.

2. Rahul Chahar (4/27)

Rahul Chahar was instrumental in MI’s comeback against KKR in the IPL this year. In 4 overs, Chahar scalped 4 crucial wickets, conceding only 27 runs in total. Chahar got the better of Shubman Gill, Eoin Morgan, Rahul Tripathi, and Nitish Rana. Owing to his superb bowling, Chahar was awarded the Man of the Match award.

1. Chetan Sakariya (3/31)

Chetan Sakariya started his IPL career with a bang, scalping 3 wickets in 4 overs for RR. Sakariya picked the crucial wickets of Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, and Jhye Richardson. After a solid outing with the ball against PBKS, Sakariya will be high on confidence heading into the upcoming matches for RR in IPL 2021.
