While everyone talks about the highest-paid players in every season of the Indian T20 League, the coaching staff’s salary often goes unnoticed. The coaches play an integral part in a team’s success. Along with a captain, it is they who have the responsibility to build a team’s culture. The coaches that have had the best rapport with their players have had the best success in the team. Here is a list of coaches that are the highest-paid in the Indian T20 League.

Anil Kumble- Punjab’s head coach (4 crores)

Anil Kumble is a strong-headed individual and understands the game really well. Punjab was not the most successful team before he joined the team. He developed the team into a very strong competition for the oppositions. In the recently concluded mega auction, he built one of the strongest teams for Punjab for the 2022 season. Mayank Agarwal may be appointed as the team captain, and he can jell up well with the former Indian skipper.

Stephen Fleming- Chennai’s head coach (3.5 crores)

Stephen Fleming has been Chennai’s head coach for many years now and has been one of the most successful coaches in the history of the tournament. He has a great bond with the captain MS Dhoni, which is very important in any sport. Under his coaching, Chennai has won all four titles. This year too, he managed to retain and re-buy some of their players that won them the 2021 season.

Ricky Ponting- Delhi’s head coach (3.5 Crores)

Ricky Ponting has been a great addition to the Delhi team in the past few seasons. He was one of the most successful players and captain when he played. He has a great understanding of the game and understands his players well. With Shreyas Iyer as the captain, he led Delhi to their first-ever appearance in the final. And now with Rishabh Pant as the captain, he is doing well to transform the young players into mature cricketers. Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, and Avesh Khan are great examples of that.

Brendon McCullum- Kolkata’s head coach (3.4 crores)

The biggest advantage of having Brendon McCullum as the head coach is that he brings the Kiwi culture to the team. All New Zealanders are known for their calm and composed nature on the field and always play in the spirit of the game. He had a pivotal role when Kolkata reached the final last season.

Mahela Jayawardene- Mumbai’s head coach (2.3 crores)

Mahela Jayawardene is the head coach of the most successful team in the tournament’s history. He has won three titles with the team so far. He has a brilliant relationship with the team management, players, support staff, and mentors. Jayawardene has given some of India’s best players as he has groomed most of them for many years.
