Top five wicketkeepers with most dismissals in Indian T20 League

A wicketkeeper becomes very important for a team as he is the closest to the batter. He guides the bowlers on what the movements of a batter are and what could be his next step. Also, a sharp catch or a stumping from the keeper can turn the game on its head. There have been numerous keepers who have had the chance to represent teams in the Indian T20 League, but only a few have made the best out of the opportunity. Here is a list of wicket-keepers with the most dismissals in the history of the Indian T20 League.

Parthiv Patel- 81 dismissals

Having played for multiple teams, Parthiv Patel was the most experienced campaigner in his playing days. He understood the game well and got the bowlers their wickets with the gloves. Despite his small stature, he was a very able keeper, and he would jump high to fetch catches all the time. He was very athletic too, no one can ever forget his last-ball run out against Pune in the 2017 final, playing for Mumbai.

Wriddhiman Saha- 82 dismissals

Wriddhiman Saha is a hugely underappreciated T20 performer, both with the bat and with the gloves. He's been around for a long time and has done well for the teams he's played for. Saha has 62 dismissals in catches and 20 wickets stumping. He will now be seen playing for the Gujarat team in the 2022 season. The team will hope that he does well for them too.

Robin Uthappa- 90 dismissals

Robin Uthappa has not put on the gloves in the ITL for a few years now, but he still has some of the best stats. If he was the primary keeper, he could have had much better results for the teams he played for. He mostly kept wickets for the Pune team. Out of his 90 dismissals, 58 have been catches and the remaining 32 have been stumpings.

Dinesh Karthik- 147 dismissals

Dinesh Karthik is a very technically sound wicket-keeper. He has the required reflexes and athleticism. He too has played for many teams and has always been their primary wicket-keeper. Karthik has played most of his matches for Kolkata, and he did really well for them. In the 2022 season, he will be joining the Bangalore squad. He will be their main keeper as well.

MS Dhoni- 161 dismissals

With his lightning-quick hands, it was a no-brainer that MS Dhoni will be at the top of this list. Playing most of the games for Chennai, Dhoni has always been their leader and wicket-keeper. Even to date, he is the most skilled wicket-keeper, despite not being in the best form with the bat. One of the biggest reasons that Chennai is not willing to drop him is his keeping. He has 39 stumpings and 122 catches in the ITL.
