Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib-al-Hasan has once again made headlines for his misbehaviour with the on-field umpires during Bangladesh Premier League 2023. He has been spotted losing his cool on several occasions in the past and venting out his anger on the field. The recent incident took place in the fourth match of the BPL between Fortune Barishal and Sylhet Strikers on Saturday.
Shakib was seen shouting and charging at the square-leg umpire over a wide-ball decision. Expressing his displeasure over the umpireโs call, Shakib was seen screaming at the umpire. The video of the decision has gone viral on social media.
The incident took place on the fourth ball of the 16th over of the first innings. A bouncer went past Shakib but wasn't called a wide. Unhappy with the decision, Shakib screamed at the umpire and charged at him angrily. The umpire reportedly said that the delivery was fair and was the first bouncer of the over.
The 35-year-old even charged toward the umpire at the bowler's end and had a few words before returning to his crease.

Shakib uprooted the stumps angrily in Dhaka Premier League 2021
Previously in the Dhaka Premier League in 2021, Shakib had lost his temper to the extent that he uprooted the stumps and smashed them on the ground in frustration at an umpiring decision. However, following the controversy, Shakib decided to apologise.
"I am extremely sorry for losing my temper and ruining the match for everyone and especially those who are watching from home. An experienced player like me should not have reacted that way but sometimes against all odds it happens unfortunately," Shakib had said back then.
More recently, Shakib cited the example of the Bollywood movie 'Nayak' while explaining it wouldn't take him long to fix things in BPL.
"If they made me the BPL CEO, it would take me one or two months to correct everything. You have seen the movie Nayak right? If you want to do something, you can do it in one day," Shakib had said in a press conference.
As for the BPL match, Shakib scored 67 runs as his side Fortune Barishal posted 194/7 in 20 overs. In reply Sylhet Strikers chased down the total in 19 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.
Meanwhile, Twitter was abuzz with reactions on Shakib's misbehaviour. Here are some of the Tweets:

What kind of example he is setting amongst young players.
Shakib is on the verge of getting banned soon. Prohibited behaviour with umpire in a row by him. ๐
