Zimbabwe and Netherlands are locking horns in the fifth match of the ODI World Cup 2023 qualifiers in Zimbabwe. Notably, 10 teams are in contention to make it for the last two slots of the main edition of the ODI World Cup 2023 which is to be played in India later this year.
Coming back to the ongoing clash between Zimbabwe and the Netherlands; an interesting visual during the match has attracted the headlines of the social media. Probably a Zimbabwean fan was spotted with former Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s jersey of his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

Speaking of the ongoing action of the match, the hosts’ skipper Craig Ervine won the toss and asked the Dutchmen to bat first. Batting first, The Netherlands have posted a decent total of 315 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Star opener Vikramjit Singh and skipper Scott Edwards played the amazing individual knocks of 88 and 83 runs respectively alongside the 59-run knock by Max O’Dowd.
The veteran all-rounder Sikandar Raza scalped four wickets for Zimbabwe in the first innings alongside the two wickets claimed by Richard Ngarava.
Earlier, Zimbabwe won their first match against Nepal by a big margin to start their campaign in the World Cup qualifiers with a massive win in the first match. Currently, they are in the top spot in the points table of the Group A of the tournament. Whereas, the West Indies are in the second spot with a win in their first match against the United States of America.
