The Men in Green took on Bangladesh in Adelaide on 6 November 2022 in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. Pakistan came to this clash after losing two out of their four matches. So, they were hoping for a win from the Dutch against South Africa. However, the Netherlands did not disappoint Pakistan fans as they defeated the Proteas by 13 runs.

After that result, Pakistani fans started to believe again that they can qualify for the semi-finals if they manage to defeat Bangladesh. Babar Azam and his men were coming off after winning a game against the Proteas. On the other hand, Bangladesh were also looking to qualify for the semi-finals by defeating the Men in Green.

Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam failed again against Bangladesh in the 20-20 World Cup

Speaking of the match, Shakib-al-Hasan won the toss and choose to bat first. While batting first, they managed only 127 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Only, Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 54 runs off 48 balls, including seven fours. Apart from him, no batters managed to score big for their team. For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi took four wickets for 22 runs in his four overs. In reply, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan came out to open the innings.

Before this match, Rizwan managed only 71 runs while Babar scored 14 runs in four matches of the ongoing World Cup. So, fans were worried to see such a poor form from both these star batters. But, they were hoping that both could do well against Bangladesh. However, they failed again miserably. Both of them put up a partnership of 57 runs in 10.3 overs before Babar Azam got out on 25 runs off 33 balls. He batted at a strike rate of 75.75. Mohammad Rizwan also scored only 32 runs off 32 balls, at a strike rate of 100. So, after such innings from these batters, fans started to slam both Babar and Rizwan on social media platforms.
