A security crew from Pakistan is scheduled to visit India to evaluate the sites for the ODI World Cup 2023. Before enabling the Babar Azam-led side to travel to India, Pakistan will undergo a thorough security check. Pakistan played their last match in India at the T20 World Cup 2016.
Sending a group to safeguard the security and safety of players, officials, and visiting fans is not unusual given the fragile political ties between two close neighbours. When the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman is chosen, the government will determine whether to send the security delegation to India, according to a source from the Inter-Provincial Coordination (Sports) Ministry.
The delegation will interact with the officials there: Source
One of the sources from the Inter-Provincial Coordination spoke to TOI about the planning for the World Cup and security arrangements for the team. They said, “The security delegation will go with representation from the PCB to inspect the venues where Pakistan will play and also the security and other arrangements made for them in the World Cup. Before any tour to India, it is standard practice for the cricket board to seek permission from the government which normally sends a delegation to India.”
He also spoke about the objectives and end goal of this inspection done by the delegation sent to India. They said, "The delegation will interact with the officials there and discuss and inspect with them the security and other arrangements for our players, officials, fans, and media, who will go for the tournament. The PCB will share the report with the ICC and BCCI if the delegation has any concerns."
Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi Stadium is the venue where Pakistan will begin its ODI World Cup 2023 campaign on October 6 against a team from the World Cup Qualifiers. On October 15, they will face India in a thrilling match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, and they will play their remaining group-stage matches in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.
Following consent from both the governments of India and Pakistan, the men's national football team of Pakistan recently paid its first visit to India in five years in order to compete in the upcoming South Asian Football Federation Championship 2023 (SAFF Cup).
