After a loss against Punjab in their campaign opener, Kolkata have faced another blow as the veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has opted out of the ongoing Indian T20 League 2023. The media reports have learned that the star Bangladesh international has decided to stay out of the tournament due to personal commitments and availability issues.

Subsequently, the fans also reacted to the same with some interesting reactions on the micro-blogging site Twitter. They came up with some trolling Shakib and Kolkata franchise as well. Meanwhile, the concerns for Kolkata have also begun to replace Shakib with another all-rounder or a like-to-like replacement for him.

Earlier, Kolkata was in trouble when their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the entire season due to a lower-back injury that he sustained during the four-match Test series against Australia.
