Chennai vs Punjab (Image source- BCCI)
Punjab beat Chennai by a big margin of 54 runs in the 11th match of the ITL. Chasing 181, Chennai lacked intent for the most part of the innings. To begin with, Ruturaj Gaikwad had a lot of pressure after two failures. Unfortunately, he did not deliver as he was dismissed on one. After that, they lost a few quick wickets in the match and were five wickets down for just 36 runs. Shivam Dube then scored some quick runs, to keep the hopes alive for Chennai. Dube departed shortly after scoring a fifty. Wickets kept falling regularly as Chennai fell short of the target.
In the first innings, Punjab too had a slow start. They lost Mayank Agarwal and Rajapaksa at the score of 14. It was the Liam Livingstone show after that. He scored a fiery fifty for the team and ended with the figures of 60 in 32 balls. He hit five fours and five for sixes. Shikhar Dhawan also helped him at the other end. He scored 33 runs in 24 balls. Both departed in quick succession as Punjab were restricted to 180.
For Chennai, the bowlers did a good job in the first innings. Most of them were fairly economical and got a few wickets. Chris Jordan was their star of the innings as he picked up two wickets and conceded just 23 runs in the match. Dwayne Pretorius also had two wickets.
For Punjab, the bowlers were outstanding. They kept taking wickets for the team and did not allow Chennai to build many partnerships. Vaibhav Arora was spectacular to take early wickets as he ended his spell with two wickets, conceding just 21 runs. Rahul Chahar was also clinical as he took three wickets in the match. Liam Livingstone made merry with the ball as well and picked up two wickets.

Horrible #CSK team selection shows. What idiot decided not to renew #FafDuPlessis? Ridiculous.
Not benefit of hindsight. Everyone called this even then, during the auctions.#CSKvsPBKS #Chennai #Dhoni
