Recently, a digital marketing agency revealed in its market research that the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the most popular player during IPL 2023. The report of this digital marketing also learned that Virat was mentioned on social media platforms more than 7 million times.

Meanwhile, a section of the cricket couldn’t take it too seriously and they immediately took to Twitter to react with some hilarious reactions on the micro-blogging site. Fans also commented some trolling and taunting remarks on Virat Kohli’s title drought in either of the formats of the game; be it international level or the franchise T20 tournament, Indian Premier League.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Talking about Kohli’s performance in this year’s Indian Premier League 2023, he looked in brilliant touch with the bat throughout the tournament. Notably, the former RCB skipper ended up in the tournament as the fourth-highest run-scorer in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.

He scored 639 runs in 14 innings of the 14 matches, he played for RCB with an amazing average of 53.25 including two consecutive centuries and six half-centuries. Although his side failed to qualify for the playoffs and missed the trophy for yet another time.

But just after the conclusion of the IPL 2023, Virat’s batting and his intent went under scrutiny after a failure in the World Test Championship 2023 final against Australia. He couldn’t live up to the expectations for India in the all-important title clash of the WTC 2021-23 cycle.

Now, the veteran of 75 international centuries will be in action with Team India in the upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies.

Here’s a look at the Test squad of India for the West Indies tour:

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), KS Bharat (wicket-keeper), Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, and Navdeep Saini.
