One of the players that was expected to get the biggest amount was Ishan Kishan, and that's exactly what happened. Mumbai got the player they needed for a price of 15.25 crores. This is the first time Mumbai has paid someone over 10 crores in the auction.
Ishan Kishan was purchased by Mumbai in 2018, and he has been a great part of the team ever since. He looked to be a hot buy and was expected to be among the top-paid players this season. The left-hander has played in 61 games and has close to 1500 runs to his name.
Kishan is currently playing with the Indian team in the series against the West indies. He got a chance in the first ODI game and started off well, but could not go on for long. He provides a few options with the bat as he is a floater in the team and can bat at any position. He also can put on the gloves to keep the wickets when needed.
A few teams were looking to have him on their side, but it was Mumbai in the end who managed to get him back to play for them. Punjab Gujarat and Hyderabad also were all out at him but Mumbai was keen to rope him and kept on matching the bids.

One franchise has apparently discussed among themselves they won't waste energy bidding for Ishan Kishan until he passes the Ra 12 cr mark. Why keep raising your hand from the beginning when you can do it at the right time. 🤣
