The Board of Control for Cricket in India is set to conduct the remaining games of the Indian Premier League in UAE. However, the preparations for the tournament have not yet begun. Chennai Super Kings CEO, Kasi Viswanathan, pointed out that the UAE travel ban will be a huge roadblock in the process. The government of UAE has decided to extend the flight ban from India till July 21. Thus, this has prevented franchise officials from flying to the Middle East. All the IPL teams will now have to finalize their logistical plans, book hotels, and make the required arrangements for the players' stay as soon as possible.

BCCI likely to announce the fixture of the remaining matches of IPL 2021

The franchise owners might be in a dilemma as the prices would rise, considering the Dubai Expo is also scheduled to occur in October. With just two months left for the T20 league to begin, the travel ban is preventing the officials from getting their work done. The Dubai Expo invites around 25 million visitors to UAE, leading the prices of hotels to shoot up. Hence, getting the desired hotels to create a bio-bubble will be very difficult for the owners. Now that the ICC T20 World Cup is officially shifted to the UAE, BCCI is likely to announce the fixture of the remaining matches of IPL 2021 soon.

Presently, the UAE government does not allow unvaccinated travelers to enter the country. If similar rules are applied, then the franchises will need to vaccinate all the contingent members fully.

Meanwhile, the 14th season of the Indian Premier League will commence in the United Arab Emirates from the third week of September. The Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended on May 4 due to an increasing number of Covid-19 cases. Overall, 29 games were conducted in the 14th season of the Indian Premier League. Thus, with 31 games remaining, the BCCI will need a small window of around three weeks to complete the tournament. Just like 2020, the remaining IPL games will be spread across three venues. This includes Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.
