In an exciting piece of news for cricket fans across the world, the much-awaited anthem for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, in India has been released by cricket’s governing body. The Apex governing body of cricket released the anthem from their official social media channels on Wednesday, September 20.

Notably, the marquee international tournament is coming back to India after a wait of 12 years since it was hosted jointly by India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh in 2011. Now, there is one change from the last edition and it will be the entire hosting of the tournament in India only.

The 13th edition of the highly anticipated cricket carnival is set to commence on October 5 with the inaugural match between the defending champions, England against the runners-up of the last edition, New Zealand. Both teams will lock horns in the tournament opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Coming back to the newly-released anthem for the World Cup, the video of this masterpiece is also making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by cricket’s governing body.

The anthem for the World Cup has been written by Shloke Lal and Saaveri Verma. The singers who have given their voices, include the likes of Pritam, Nakash Aziz, Sreerama Chandra, Amit Mishra, Jonita Gandhi, Akasa, and Charan. The music of this anthem has been given by Pritam.

Speaking of the hosts India, they will start their run in the tournament with their campaign opener against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both teams will play this match on Sunday, October 8.

The arch-rivals, India and Pakistan will face off each other in the high-octane clash in the group stage of the ODI World Cup 2023. Both teams will lock horns in the iconic encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14.

The warm-up matches for the tournament will start on the 29th of September. Rohit Sharma’s men will play two matches before the main round; they will play against England and Netherlands, respectively in the warm-up games.
